How to Tailor a Thrifted Skirt to Fit You!

July 17, 2014 Tara Joy 1

One of the main problems with being a small is the difficulty in finding clothes that not only fit but are modest. Everything is either too large around the waist or way too long. Luckily, I started sewing about a year ago which has allowed me to tailor what I buy to fit me! A few months ago, after much prayer and discernment, I decided to start wearing more skirts and dresses. (Stay tuned for the Post on why next week!) I wore pants and jeans almost everyday for my whole life so when I wanted to switch I had [Continue Reading…]

24 Life Lessons I've Learned In 24 Years

July 14, 2014 Tara Joy 1

It is that time of year again.  The annual celebration of my birthday is this week, and my birthday has a tendency to always get me thinking about the past. The memories that make me smile, and laugh quietly as I think back. As well as the memories that make me cringe and say “why in the world did I do that”. All of which got me thinking of the things that I have learned throughout my young life.   Here are the 24 Life Lessons that I have learned in the past 24 years of my life. Most of [Continue Reading…]

Strawberry Nutella Pan-Crepes

July 10, 2014 Tara Joy 4

I know the past few posts have been very scripture heavy, so I wanted to share some other things that I enjoy. Since this blog is called Faith In Everyday I will be including posts on things going on in my life, recipes that my family enjoys and encouraging words.  Our family does a “Brinner” (Breakfast for Dinner) at least once every two weeks. I personally could have breakfast food anytime, I love it. So, the other day we decided to do pancakes for Brinner, but my husband had the great idea to make them like crepes. He is always [Continue Reading…]

Home: Where Hope and Joy Are Waiting.

July 7, 2014 Tara Joy 0

A few weeks ago I had the most wonderful opportunity. My sister and I went to see the Christian Comedian/Singer, Chonda Pierce’s “Girl Talk”. Not only were my cheeks sore by the end from laughing so hard, there was a surprise special guest. An australian “Steven Curtis Chapman” as Chonda compared, and she could not have been more right. He performed a few songs that truly reached my heart. Please take a minute to listen and soak in  Home by Nathan Tasker. Can’t See The Video? Click Here. Have you ever stopped to looked out onto a vast body of [Continue Reading…]

Why It Is Not My Job To Make My Son Happy

July 3, 2014 Tara Joy 1

God blessed me with the most precious gift almost 2 years ago. In doing so He gave Eric and I the sole responsibility in raising Kolton, and as a stay at home mom it is my job to care for him day in and day out. My job description is a lot of things, but making him happy is not apart of it.  It is my job, however, to feed him when he is hungry to help him grow. To teach him not to run in the street, climb on bookcases or stand on a kitchen chair in order to [Continue Reading…]

Part 2: Luke 9:23 – Take Up His Cross Daily

June 30, 2014 Tara Joy 0

Welcome to Part 2 of diving deep into Luke 9:23 with me! Last week in Part 1- Deny Himself, I gave you my example of when the first time I denied myself and started my journey with Christ. Christ used my yes to his plan, instead of my own, to teach me many lessons and lead me back into a relationship with him.  Today I have decided to do a video blog to continue on our study of Luke 9:23 because sometimes there is just so much to say about Gods word! Enjoy!  Can’t See the Video? Click Here. Let’s [Continue Reading…]

Luke 9:23 Part 1 – Deny Himself

June 26, 2014 Tara Joy 1

I heard a morning show on the radio recently, they were discussing Luke 9:23’s “Deny yourself daily” and how when you deny yourself, you open yourself up for God to come in and do his work in you and through you. This got me thinking, “When did I first deny myself which started my whole journey? When did I say yes, a true yes, to God for the first time?”  Though a few things may qualify, only one sticks out as the start of my journey with Christ. Two years ago this December, I was a newlywed with a brand [Continue Reading…]

You Are More: My First Blog Post and Open Apology

June 23, 2014 Tara Joy 0

It might strike you as odd to start my Faith In Every Day Blog off with an apology. However I believe that it couldn’t be more appropriate. You see I am starting fresh in every aspect of myself. The way I think, feel and react has all changed, I am no longer the same person I was a year ago. Let me explain, for a long time I had believed in Gods love and Jesus saving me on the cross but I wasn’t living out my faith. I had my beliefs and faith in God, I grew up in the [Continue Reading…]
