Legalism in Christianity (VIDEO)

June 20, 2016 Tara Joy 1

According to Wikipedia,  “Legalism, in Christian theology, is the act of putting law above the gospel by establishing requirements for salvation beyond repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.” When it comes to following the commands of the Bible, how can we tell if we are following legalism or the grace of Jesus? Are our actions of prayer, head covering, church participation and the like, done with desire to please God or man? It is a fine line to walk, especially when you  are acting in a way that is counter cultural – sometimes people can come off as being legalistic, but is that [Continue Reading…]

Reliability of the Bible (PODCAST)

June 5, 2016 Tara Joy 0

What is the reliability of the Bible? The last few podcasts we have discussed important aspects of Christianity, such as Why Jesus is the Only Way and Why Christianity is Rational. Now I would like to discuss whether or not the Bible is actually reliable. Can we believe the claims that Jesus is the only way and that Christianity is the rational choice? If we are honest, if the Bible has no reliability then Christianity itself would be a mute point. There would be zero reason to believe it. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for [Continue Reading…]

Start

Start of Life.

May 30, 2016 Tara Joy 0

When you accepted Jesus and dedicated your life to him, did you think that you have hit the finish line? Or did you know this was just the start of your journey? I must admit that once I dedicated my life to Christ in 2013, I believed I had finally got to where I was meant to be, and the rest would be smooth sailing. haha, I had so much to learn. I am a Christian now, I thought, everything should be easy now that God’s in my corner! Right? It was a rude awakening when that didn’t happen at all! What I failed [Continue Reading…]

Head Covering As a Christian (VIDEO)

May 23, 2016 Tara Joy 4

Did you know in the Bible is says that Christian women should wear a head covering when they are praying and prophesying? I didn’t either until the summer of 2015 when I came across the Head Covering Movement.   I found what they were arguing intriguing, so I did some digging into the scripture myself.   2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[a] and the head of Christ [Continue Reading…]

Home is in Gods Arms.

May 16, 2016 Tara Joy 1

When I go home to God, whenever my time may come, I see such a beautiful picture that I cannot wait to experience. I am young again, no more than six years old. I am surrounded by pristine white clouds with a blinding light all around. I see my six year old self joyfully giggling with excitement running with my arms stretched wide towards a warm man dressed in all white. The man, whom I cannot do justice describing starts to kneel as I get close, opening his arms out to me, awaiting for my arrival. I run straight into [Continue Reading…]

Blind Faith

Blind Faith? Is that even rational? (PODCAST)

May 2, 2016 Tara Joy 0

Are You Believing In God with Blind Faith? Is that Even Rational?  When someone asks you why it is you believe in God, do you say well I just believe, or I just have faith? Do you know why you believe that Christianity is true out of all of the religions in the world? One of the main reasons that many people do not want to believe in God or Jesus is because the people they talk to fail to give them rational reasons to believe. Some have a hard time believing just “by faith” as Christians for centuries have touted. [Continue Reading…]

Passover

Passover: God will Provide

April 25, 2016 Tara Joy 1

As I mentioned in Celebrate Purim: For Such a Time as This! I am studying the old testament with eagerness to begin practicing the jewish feasts and festivals that are just as much ours as christians as jewish. One of the most important ones is Passover, or Peach, which began this past Friday night or Shabbat. Not only is passover important for jews, but for christians as well because without passover, Jesus’ sacrifice would hold no meaning. God does things in history very methodically, in which everything is connected. So when we separate “jewish holidays” from Christianity, we loose touch with the intended [Continue Reading…]

My Walk With Christ

April 18, 2016 Tara Joy 1

Today I am continuing my testimony with My Walk with Christ, if you are just joining us take a moment to go read the first part of my journey HERE. — That move to a closer state to our parents was so full of hope of what laid ahead. I was on fire for God and I knew he would work wonders for us, but I was not prepared to be tested beyond comprehension. In the Spring of 2014, I began getting articles and videos on dressing modestly via social media feeds. In our first home, I started to feel uncomfortable [Continue Reading…]
