I write in my Bible now, but this time last year I refused to make any mark on my Bible of any kind. It wasn’t until a friend and fellow blogger Dara write an eye opening post called Let Them Burn on her blog, Living Story.
I began to ponder why it is I felt so against writing in my Bible and I discovered that I was placing the Bible itself as an idol in my heart. Instead of using it as a tool to place God’s word in my heart, I was allowing the pages to become more important to me than the words themselves.
God would like us to memorize his words to that we may go out there and place them into practice, being Gods hands and feet.
9How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word.
10With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
11Your word I have treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.
12Blessed are You, O LORD;
Teach me Your statutes.
13With my lips I have told of
All the ordinances of Your mouth.
14I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
15I will meditate on Your precepts
And regard Your ways.
16I shall delight in Your statutes;
I shall not forget Your word.
So lets discuss why I began to write in my Bible and the benefits I have gained from it in the video below!
